In the period from February 14-25, 2024, ZMAI was proud to have Ksenija Popovikj Kocevski participate in a prestigious delegation organized by the Congressional Office for International Leadership in Washington, USA. Ksenija was one of six remarkable women chosen from the Balkans for their leadership in economics and trade. Throughout the 11-day-long visit to Washington and Baltimore, Ksenija and her fellow delegates engaged in a series of impactful meetings.

Ksenija’s participation was part of the Western Balkan Open World Regional Program for “Women Leaders in Trade and Economics,” underscoring her commitment to advancing economic opportunities and gender equality in our region. This immersive experience provided Ksenija with invaluable insights, methodologies, and connections that will undoubtedly enhance our organization’s endeavors. Their program included meetings, discussions, and collaborations with Dr. Sam Potolicchio, president of Preparing Global Leaders Foundation, Ms. Tara Palacios, Director of BizLaunch, Dr. Sharon Freeman of Gems of Wisdom Consulting, Inc., Andrew Kreinik of the Maryland Department of Commerce, the City of Baltimore Development Corporation (BDC), the Port of Baltimore, Daraius Irani, Chief Economist at the Regional Economic Studies Institute of Towson University, the U.S. Small Business Administration, and Troy A. LeMaile-Stovall, the CEO of the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO), among others.
We are proud to have had Ksenija represent us in this program, and we look forward to leveraging the knowledge and networks gained to further our mission.
