Responding to the socio-economic effects of COVID-19 by supporting vulnerable groups, low-wage workers, informal economy workers and casual workers

The crisis caused by the COVID-19 epidemic has seriously affected all segments of society and all citizens, yet a disproportionately greater effect and damage has been caused to disadvantaged groups, women and marginalized communities.
The Association ZMAI started the implementation of the project – “Response to the socio-economic effects of COVID-19 by supporting vulnerable groups, low-paid workers, workers from the informal economy and occasional employees”, through which a comprehensive analysis of the effects of COVID-19 will be carried out. on the textile industry.
At the same time, this analysis will contribute to a better understanding of the effect of government policies on vulnerable groups, and will contribute to mitigating the socio-economic consequences for them through the promotion of long-term measures for the employment of vulnerable people.
At the same time, the project will promote long-term measures to mitigate the effects and will test and develop new models and initiatives for development in the region, through direct support for vulnerable groups of citizens, improvement of the capacities for representation of associations and regional networking for discussing the effects of the crisis on economic sectors and building a strategic vision for development.
This project is supported by the Open Society Foundation – Macedonia, and is implemented in the countries of the Western Balkans, with the support of the Joint Fund for Rapid Response to COVID-19 of the Open Society Foundations.
